Wahid Majrooh

Former Minister of Health of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan
Dr. Wahid Majrooh is a prominent leader in global health and diplomacy, formerly serving as Afghanistan's Minister of Health. He has held key roles, including Deputy Minister for Healthcare Service Delivery, Political Advisor at the US Embassy and WHO EB member. Along with his MD degree, MSc in Global Health Policy (LSHTM), MA in Political Science and MAS in International Security (UNIGE), Dr. Majrooh has extensive expertise in leadership, crisis management, geopolitics and international relations. Notably, he risked his life and remained in Afghanistan during the Taliban's takeover to ensure healthcare continuity. Later on he founded the Afghanistan Center for Health and Peace Studies in Geneva and initiated online training for Afghan women and girls in response to educational bans. Currently, he serves as Academic Fellow at Geneva Humanitarian Studies Center and as an Executive-in-Residence Fellow at the Geneva Center for Security Policy.
