Verushen Appalsamy

Verushen works on outcomes-based financing and sovereign solutions at UNICEF. He previously contributed to the financial modelling for the World Bank outcome bond, UNICEF's first engagement with international capital markets.
Before joining UNICEF headquarters, he served as Head of Private Sector Partnerships for UNHCR across 16 Southern African countries, where he worked with private sector and legislative partners to expand refugees' access to banking and credit. He has spent over 13 years with UNICEF and UNHCR, working at the intersection of development finance, partnerships and fragile contexts.
