Tanjir Hossain

Tanjir Hossain is a humanitarian and development professional with two decades of experience in humanitarian action, resilience building, climate change, disaster risk reduction (DRR), and sustainable development. He currently serves as the Team Lead of the International Humanitarian Action and Resilience Team at ActionAid International and as Co-Chair of the Advisory Group of Sendai Stakeholder Engagement Mechanism (Sendai SEM), the multi-stakeholder platform supporting implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction.
For over 18 years, Tanjir has been engaged in global policy processes on climate change, DRR and sustainable development, and he remains active in several international networks in these fields. He is a strong advocate for integrated programming across the humanitarian–development–climate–peace nexus, grounded in a whole-of-society approach that places communities at the center of building peace and resilience.Sessions
