Rob van Hout is a market systems and private sector development specialist with 15 years of international cooperation experience, including roles as project manager, senior advisor and, since 2022, team leader of Helvetas' Skills, Jobs and Income team. His thematic focus spans market systems development, private sector engagement, vocational skills development and, increasingly, impact finance as a mechanism to sustain development outcomes beyond project timelines. He has provided ongoing technical backstopping to the YES-Amhara programme in Ethiopia - advising on enterprise development and systems approaches, leading its mid-term review, and now developing a concept for sustainable, blended financing of the model.
