Paolo Bergamo

CEO, OverIT

Paolo Bergamo is the CEO and Chairman of OverIT, a global leading company in Field Service Management software.

After his PhD in Computer Engineering at the University of Ferrara in 2002, he joined the research group led by Leonard Kleinrock, known as “Father of the Internet” at UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles).

In 2004 he left academia for a journey into the startup space, joining Sendia, a mobile technology company with the mission of developing a platform to use business apps on smartphones.

In 2006, the startup was acquired by Salesforce, currently ranking as the third largest company in the software industry. In Salesforce Paolo played a main role in designing a significant number of the company’s products, driven by his strong focus on mobile technology.

In 2008, Steve Jobs chose Paolo and his team to build one of the first five apps to go live on the iPhone App Store.

In 2017, while still at Salesforce, they bootstrapped the Field Service Management software business unit, making it become the worldwide market leader by 2020.

In 2021, after nearly 20 years in California, Paolo has moved back to Italy as the Chief Executive Officer of OverIT, with the ambitious goal of turning the company into a worldwide player in the Software as a Service (SaaS) space.

Paolo is also Senior Advisor for Bain Capital, one of the most important private equity firms in the world and member of the Board of Directors of H-FARM, an Italian Education hub of excellence.
