Ota Akhigbe
Ota Akhigbe is the Director, Partnership & Programs at eHealth Africa, and one of the senior African voices shaping how the continent's health systems are funded, designed, and scaled - including in fragile, conflict-affected, and post-crisis settings. Her work sits at the intersection of capital, governance, and delivery, building the partnerships and financing architecture that move African health systems from pilot to sustained scale.
She anchors a $37M portfolio across 44 projects in 21 countries, spanning outbreak response, primary healthcare, laboratory systems, climate-health resilience, and digital public health infrastructure. Under her leadership, eHealth Africa has strengthened its position as a leading African-rooted delivery partner to the Africa CDC, UNICEF, the Gates Foundation, WHO AFRO, and the emerging generation of climate-health and impact investors reshaping how African health is built and sustained.
She serves on the Interim Interim Board Secretariat of the African Digital Health Networks (ADHN), where eHealth Africa is a founding anchor partner, and represents the organisation across leading global convenings including the Skoll World Forum, the Humanitarian Finance Summit, the Insights Learning Forum, and the Africa Health Tech Summit. In 2026, she co-anchored eHealth Africa's climate-health positioning at Skoll in partnership with the Margaret Pyke Trust and the Valerian Fund, and led the closing of new catalytic-capital partnerships including with ICONIQ Impact.
She is known for translating complex, multi-stakeholder relationships into durable institutional outcomes, and for the conviction that as the humanitarian and development system is being remade, African leadership must sit at the table where the models, the capital, and the accountability are decided.
