Nwe Zin Win
Nwe Zin Win is the Executive Director and founding member of Pyi Gyi Khin (PGK), a women-led
national NGO established in Myanmar in 1997. She serves on the Board of Executives of the Local
Intermediary Actors (LIA) Network and brings more than 25 years of experience in public health,
gender equality, civil society leadership, and civic space promotion at national and international levels.
Under her leadership, PGK has grown into one of Myanmar's leading local actors in community-based
health service provision and humanitarian response — providing capacity development support to
more than 1,000 community-based and civil society organizations, partnering with over 180 health
CSOs across 160 townships, and operating 45 health service facilities supported by more than 300
staff and 3,000 volunteers.
A consistent advocate for localization and locally led action, Nwe Zin Win has contributed to policy
dialogue, coalition-building, and collective action to increase access to health services and
humanitarian assistance, advance gender equality, and strengthen the role of local organizations in
shaping the policies and programs that affect their communities — including engagement in Grand
Bargain processes.
She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) at Khon Kaen University, Thailand
