Mohammed Kroessin
Dr Mohammed R. Kroessin is a development economist and Islamic social finance practitioner with over 20 years’ experience working with Islamic development and social financial institutions on sustainable development, climate finance, humanitarian financing and social impact investment. He currently heads Islamic Relief’s Global Islamic Microfinance Unit, leading a portfolio of financial inclusion programmes across 10 countries, and brings extensive experience in translating Islamic philanthropy and social investment into practical models for resilience, livelihoods and long-term development.
An international expert in Islamic social finance, Dr Mohammed has worked across Africa, Asia, the Middle East and the Balkans, including board roles with microfinance institutions and advisory work for organisations such as the Islamic Development Bank and the United Nations Development Programme and is guest lecturer at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, Germany (www.fs.de/cei
