Mr. Warsame has been working with the Somali Red Crescent Society (SRCS) for 26 years. He joined Somalia Red Crescent in February 1996 and became the National Health Coordinator during January 2005 – December 2009. He attained the position of Branch Coordinator in Beletweyn between October 2011 to February 2014. From April 2017 to December 2022, Mr Warsame was assigned for the position of Deputy Executive Director and lastly his efforts and dedication to the Red Crescent work led him appointed as the Somali Red Crescent Executive Director in January 2023. In addition to the Somali Red Crescent work, Mr Warsame held different positions in other organizations. He worked with the Ministry of health during April 1984 to Oct 1990, Save the children during January to October 2010, Hiran University during November 2010 to September 2011, FAO during March 2014 to March 2017. Warsame is a highly experienced humanitarian professional who has over 30 years of experience and worked as consultant with Save the Children, CGA technologies, Tecnoplan and WARDI. His experience covers several areas, and he was the Technical Advisor for the analysis of the health workforce management, remuneration and top ups in the country. He assisted several organizations in facilitating and leading technical and capacity development trainings, research and evaluation of humanitarian programs giving him special aptitude to adopting experience and knowledge to the challenges of working in conflict and complex emergency regions.
