Mario Lopez Alba
Clinical psychologist and Mental Health Referent,
Doctors Without Borders Switzerland
Mario is a clinical psychologist and one of the Mental Health Referents at Doctors Without Borders Switzerland, with over eight years of experience in the humanitarian sector. Since joining MSF in 2017 in an emergency project in the Republic Democratic of Congo, he has worked in a range of contexts, including the Central African Republic, Palestine, and protracted migration contexts such as the migrant route in Mexico. There, he supported the implementation of an mhGAP Travel Kit for people with severe mental health conditions, with a focus on strengthening continuity of care along the route. His work focuses on mental health and psychosocial support, continuity of care, and access to services for people in vulnerable and mobile contexts.
