Jan van 't Land
Jan van ’t Land joined Clingendael in 2025 as Senior Academy Fellow where he develops, coordinates and provides training in humanitarian negotiation.
He brings extensive experience from the humanitarian sector. Prior to joining Clingendael he worked for the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Somalia. At IOM, he was responsible for developing and coordinating humanitarian programmes with authorities, donors and both national and international partners. In addition, he provided surge support to various humanitarian responses including for Sudan and Gaza. Jan also worked at the Somalia department of the Dutch Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya.
Jan has a Masters Degree in International Development Studies, with a specialisation in Disaster and Conflict Studies from the Wageningen University and a Bachelors Degree in Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam.
