Gloria Donate
Gloria is the Head of Humanitarian Aid at the Irene M. Staehelin Foundation, a Swiss Foundation with its headquarters in Zurich. She oversees the humanitarian grant portfolio composed of national and international non-governmental organisations anticipating, preparing and responding to crises. Guided by the principles of humanity, impartiality, accountability to affected communities and equality, our efforts go beyond addressing immediate needs – we aim to empower communities and strengthen resilience through locally-led approaches.
Before joining the Foundation in 2024, Gloria spent over 17 years in the aid sector, working with the European Union, Plan International, or Save the Children in several countries, including Dominican Republic, Cambodia or Palestine. She has led diverse teams, deployed to multiple crisis responses, and designed, implemented, and managed strategies and programs across diverse contexts.
