
Eva Oldenbuerger
Eva Oldenbuerger is a Programme Fellow at the Clingendael Institute, where she works primarily within the Humanitarian Negotiations Programme. Since 2021 she works on the protection of humanitarian space by designing, coordinating and delivering specialized training in humanitarian negotiation and humanitarian diplomacy to humanitarians. Eva also provides training sessions to diplomatic groups on humanitarian diplomacy and negotiation to foster mutual understanding across the humanitarian and diplomatic sectors.
Her work builds on her experience with a humanitarian NGO in Greek refugee camps, where she launched a watersports program to help refugees address their fears after Mediterranean crossings. Eva holds a master's degree in international development studies from Wageningen University, specializing in the Sociology of Conflict and Disasters, and a bachelor's degree in international studies with a focus on South and Southeast Asia from Leiden University. Her background includes work with the Dutch Relief Alliance, where she focused on communication and advocacy.
