As Chief of Education at Education Cannot Wait (ECW), Dianah Birungi Nelsen leads the program development and quality assurance team from Geneva, Switzerland. She brings over 15 years of expertise in the education sector and international development, having worked with governments, NGOs, UN agencies, and donors in over 21 countries across Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe. A native of Uganda, she holds two Master's degrees from KU Leuven University Belgium in culture and development studies and educational studies. Her extensive experience includes providing leadership and technical support during humanitarian crises in various contexts such as conflict, natural disasters, and complex emergencies.
