Bart Van Rooijen
Bart van Rooijen is a global supply chain leader with extensive expertise in humanitarian logistics across low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). At IDA Foundation - a not-for-profit organisation committed to improving access to essential medicines - he oversees end-to-end logistics operations, ensuring the timely delivery of health products to regions across Africa, Latin America, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. He manages complex logistics projects and partners to develop robust, scalable supply chains. He also leads innovation efforts, integrating data-driven tools to optimise distribution and strengthen emergency response capabilities. As sustainability is one of IDA's focus areas, Bart is working to promote low-carbon logistics. This includes encouraging the use of biofuels as a promising alternative to fossil fuels. His work supports IDA’s mission to deliver high-quality, affordable health products to underserved communities through ethical, efficient, and sustainable supply chain solutions.
