Dr. Awa Babington-Ashaye is a Senior Digital Health Advisor at the Geneva Digital Health Hub (gdhub). She specializes in virology and molecular biochemistry and earned her PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Geneva. With extensive experience across both the public health and private health sectors, she has contributed to the development of therapeutic solutions across a range of disease areas, including respiratory diseases. Dr. Babington-Ashaye has also led public health initiatives focused on the prevention and diagnosis of infectious diseases, including malaria, Zika, and, most recently, COVID-19. Her work in digital health focuses on Responsible AI, implementation science, and rare diseases, with expertise in the development and evaluation of AI-driven health solutions, including multilingual chatbots designed to improve access to health information and support for patients, particularly in low-resource settings. She is passionate about bridging the gap between technological innovation and its translation into real-world health settings.
