Amr Awad

Medical Advocacy Adviser, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)
Dr. Amr Awad is a medical doctor and public health specialist with more than 20 years of experience in humanitarian health, policy advocacy, programme planning, monitoring and evaluation across Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Europe. He currently works with Médecins Sans Frontières in Geneva as a Medical Advocacy Adviser, supporting operational teams and global engagement on access to care, vaccination, sexual and reproductive health, nutrition, climate and health, and health equity in crisis-affected settings.

His work focuses on translating field evidence into practical advocacy and policy asks, helping ensure that health responses are planned around people’s real access barriers rather than around fixed service models. Previously, he held senior roles with UNICEF, UNWOMEN and the African Union Commission, where he led multi-stakeholder planning, emergency coordination, policy dialogue and evidence-based reporting with governments, UN agencies and partners.

For this panel, Amr brings the perspective of an international medical organization working to maintain continuity of care under severe access, security and system constraints.
