Alina Kurska

Alina is International Affairs Director at Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) –
American disaster relief organization which responds to natural disasters and
provides support to the affected communities. Since its creation, GEM has provided
humanitarian assistance to 43 countries, conducted 335 mission trips and distributed
over $216MM in aid. This year alone GEM responded to disasters in Ukraine,
Pakistan, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, California, Kentucky, New York,
Kansas and Florida.
Since the start of the full-scale invasion of Russia in Ukraine Alina joined the
humanitarian efforts of the Foundation of the former First Lady of Poland Jolanta
Kwaśniewska "Communication without Barriers" where she was leading the
Relocation Project (in partnership with GEM) aimed at helping Ukrainians fleeing
the war. Due to the project almost 40000 Ukrainians were relocated to the safe places
in the EU and beyond.
During the 2022 World Economic Forum in May, Alina was coordinating Russian
War Crimes House in Davos which aimed to expose to the world atrocities
committed in Ukraine by Russia and provide decision and opinion makers present
in Davos with information about the truth of the Kremlin assault on Ukraine.
Most recently Alina Kurska joined the team of Global Empowerment Mission
(GEM) as International Affairs Director.
In addition, since June 2021 Alina is acting as Ukrainian Youth Delegate to the
United Nations where she is contributing to ensuring meaningful and effective youth
engagement in the work of the UN. In October 2022 Alina was representing
Ukrainian Youth at the UN GA in New York.
