Secretary-General & Chief Program Officer, Global Islamic Finance and Impact Investing Platform (GIFIP)

Dr Adnan Aziz is an internationally recognised Islamic finance and sustainable finance strategist with nearly three decades of experience across Islamic banking, investment structuring, capital markets, development finance, and institutional ecosystem building across the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and Africa.

He has advised on and contributed to the structuring and development of multi-billion-dollar Islamic finance transactions, platforms, and institutional initiatives globally, including Islamic banking windows, investment platforms, sustainable finance structures, and blended finance 
ecosystems.

Dr Aziz is particularly recognised for his work at the intersection of:
• Islamic sustainable finance,
• climate and nature finance,
• blended finance,
• sovereign and institutional capital mobilisation,
• and Global South investment ecosystems.

He currently serves as the Secretary-General & Chief Program Officer of the Global Islamic Finance Impact Program for Climate, Nature, and Development (GIFIP) – a Global South-led platform focused on mobilising Islamic blended finance for climate, nature, and development impact across emerging markets and OIC geographies.

His current work focuses on building scalable institutional platforms capable of connecting:
• Islamic commercial finance,
• catalytic and concessional capital,
• Islamic social finance,
• and investment-ready climate and development pipelines.

Dr Aziz has worked with and advised governments, regulators, multilateral institutions, banks, DFIs, sovereign stakeholders, and private sector institutions globally on Islamic finance strategy, structuring, sustainability integration, and institutional development.

He is also a Certified Shariah Advisor and Auditor (CSAA) issued by AAOIFI (Bahrain) and continues to advise various Islamic financial institutions and investment platforms 
internationally.
