Fondation Hirondelle
Fondation Hirondelle is a Swiss non-profit organisation working to ensure that people facing crises have access to reliable, local and independent information. For more than 30 years, since 1995, it has supported local media and journalists in fragile contexts. In 2026, Fondation Hirondelle provides daily information to more than 11 million people in 15 countries across three continents. In 2025 alone, it supported over 400 local media outlets and trained around 2,000 journalists, technicians and media managers. Based in Lausanne, Switzerland, Fondation Hirondelle employs around 270 professionals worldwide, nearly 90% of whom work in the countries where it operates.
The exhibition features photographs by eight professional photographers, highlighting the work of Fondation Hirondelle’s journalists and media outlets in crisis-affected contexts. From Ukraine to Central Africa, the Sahel and Myanmar, it offers a glimpse into the world of journalists working to ensure that people have access to reliable information.
