AIDA AT A GLANCE
Azerbaijan International Development Agency (AIDA) was established by the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2011 under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Agency supports the efforts of the international community in addressing the social and economic challenges of the developing world. AIDA’s primary responsibility is the timely and coordinated delivery of international assistance by the Republic of Azerbaijan in response to the growing number of aid requests from foreign states. Since its establishment, the Agency has been actively working to promote the global donor profile of the Republic of Azerbaijan, enhance the effectiveness of its aid policy and expand its number of partners and allies, while remaining committed to the principles of cooperation, efficiency, transparency, and equality in the delivery of aid to foreign countries.
MISSION
AIDA’s primary mission is to contribute to sustainable international efforts to improve the living standards of people in the developing world. In this regard, the eradication of poverty, the enhancement of public health conditions, and the fostering of social and economic development in aid-recipient countries constitute the core objectives of AIDA. The Agency is committed to delivering aid to the victims of natural or man-made disasters, humanitarian crises and armed conflicts which constitutes one of its key areas of responsibility. Taking into consideration the importance of education as the backbone of global development, supporting capacity building and improving the level of education in developing countries is a vital element of AIDA’s mission path.
VISION
Guided by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s), AIDA is actively engaged in addressing poverty, and promoting the advancement of science, education, culture and healthcare. The agency also supports the broader application of information technologies and efficient use of energy resources.
AIDA is committed to sharing Azerbaijan’s broad capacity and experience in various economic and social fields with the developing world through its humanitarian aid and development assistance programs.
