Earthquake in Afghanistan, IDDEF reached the region, joined the search and rescue operations, and launched emergency relief activities.
01 Sept 2025In a statement from IDDEF, it was said: “According to initial reports, 850 people lost their lives and more than 2,500 were injured in the magnitude 6 earthquake in the eastern Afghan province of Kunar. We continue to stand by our brothers and sisters in Afghanistan. In the first stage, we are providing all the support we can in both search and rescue operations and humanitarian relief efforts. As it is a mountainous region, roads have been closed due to landslides, so operations are being carried out by helicopters. As search and rescue efforts continue and the toll rises, we pray to Allah for mercy on those who lost their lives and a swift recovery for the injured. From the very first moments of the earthquake, our teams have been working to heal the wounds of our friend and brother country Afghanistan by delivering water, hot meals, tents, and blankets.”
