Power, Water and Cold Without the Grid - An Industry Discussion on Scaling Humanitarian Infrastructure
A technology institute in Spain's Canary Islands, together with the International Red Cross and the World Food Program (United Nations), set out to answer a deceptively simple question: how do you deliver power, clean water and reliable cold storage together, without existing infrastructure, in hours rather than months? The answer is ClimaRisk: an integrated, renewable, container-based solution now certified (Lloyd's Register, CE, ISO/UNE) and recognised with Iberdrola’s “Best Practice in International Energy Cooperation” Award. This session tells that story from its origin through to today, when Power Solutions, an international operator with fleet and deployment experience across more than 30 countries, is taking ClimaRisk from field-tested technology to commercial deployment in West Africa.
Humanitarian and development actors face a familiar constraint this year: doing more with less. ClimaRisk was designed from the outset around that constraint: replacing continuous diesel transport with renewable generation and smart backup, reducing operating cost and logistical risk at the same time. This session offers a rare combination: the technical origin story from the engineers who built and certified the solution, and the commercial roadmap from the operator now bringing it to market, with a direct line to rural areas and refugee camps deployment.
