Equitable Partnerships in support of Locally Led Humanitarian Action - Dialogue between private sector, UN and civil society

Across the humanitarian system, there is increasing recognition that national and local actors play important roles in efforts on resilience, anticipatory action and emergency response. Through the Grand Bargain, local actors, international NGOs, UN agencies and donors have established guidelines and principles for equitable partnership and support to locally-led humanitarian action. The gap between policy commitments and guidance at global level and action by different actors on the ground is frequently raised as a challenge; leading to calls for enhanced and aligned approaches to foster accountability. Grand Bargain signatories also all in different ways partner with diverse private sector actors from contractors involved in the management of humanitarian partnerships to different sectors that supply or enable humanitarian action. This session will explore best practices in integrating equitable partnership principles across the spectrum of humanitarian partnerships; including UN, civil society and private sector actors. Insights will be shared from the country-level, including from local actor representatives from countries in crisis, alongside the findings from research and policy dialogue at global level.
