Rethinking the SDGs in a climate crisis - Innovation and partnerships for the next decade
When the SDGs were adopted in 2015, climate change was already recognized as a global challenge, but today it has become the defining force reshaping the entire agenda. From extreme weather to food insecurity and forced migration, climate risks are reversing hard-won gains. With five years left, this session asks whether the SDG framework is still adequate, or if the focus should shift to rapidly scaling climate-smart innovations and partnerships. Through a blend of debate, roundtable dialogue, and a design sprint, the session aims to:
- Facilitate a cross-sector debate on the SDGs’ relevance in a climate crisis
- Generate 3–4 actionable partnership ideas
- Showcase examples of climate-smart innovations
- Share insights on challenges, pathways, and strategies for scaling solutions
