Grassroots solutions to climate-induced vulnerability
Often, the greatest burdens of climate crises are faced by people who are already shouldering the most social and economic exclusion. Today, we see a rising number of climate shocks, natural disasters, famines, and other climate-induced crises that lead to displacement, food insecurity, conflict, and more. This session explores proven approaches to climate adaptation, mitigation, and resilience that stem from under-resourced environments and the opportunities and challenges of championing these climate solutions. This discussion anticipates including private sector, public sector, multilateral, and civil society stakeholders to explore new avenues for addressing the climate crisis with bottom-up solutions. This discussion is an opportunity to explore positionality in climate solutions and our collective responsibility toward more climate-responsive and relevant development programs that work alongside communities most affected by climate change.
