AidEx Brussels

AidEx is the leading international event dedicated to the unique needs of development and aid professionals across the world; held over two days annually at Brussels Expo, in Belgium.

AidEx is recognised as a major platform for networking, making new contacts and doing business. By taking part, you will forge new relationships in the community, raise awareness of your organisation and be involved in the sourcing of new solutions to improve the efficiency of aid delivery.

AidEx Africa

Now in it's fourth year, AidEx Africa is a two-day high-profile conference which takes place annually in Nairobi, Kenya. AidEx Africa was developed as a satellite event to the already well-established AidEx conference and exhibition for humanitarian and development aid, held each year in Brussels.

AidEx Africa attracts over 300 delegates from the Government of Kenya, UN agencies, Kenyan Red Cross and leading NGOs from Africa and beyond.

On the 16th – 17th November, organisations from around the world will gather in Brussels at AidEx, the leading international event for professionals in aid and development. Shedding the light on the event will be Durbin, one of the world’s leading specialist medical suppliers and distributors of pharmaceutical, medical and relief supplies.

Robert Donnell, Head of Business Development at Durbin, says that the addition of Gravity Light to its portfolio further demonstrates the demand for alternative lighting solutions in this sector. He comments:After the successful launch of Luci, the inflatable solar powered light, to the charity and NGO sector at AidEx 2015 the company has added to its lighting solutions portfolio with Gravity Light, an innovative device that generates light from gravity. Durbin distributes both Luci and Gravity Light exclusively to the charity and NGO sector.

“In India alone, over 2.5 million people suffer from severe burns each year, caused by kerosene lamps.1 As a result, the sourcing of safe, environmental alternatives to kerosene lamps is a key issue for the charity and NGO sector. Luci offers an excellent alternative in a mobile environment, such as when children walk to school, whereas Gravity Light offers a reliable source of light in a static situation such as a hospital or living area.”

The distribution of these lights to the charity and NGO sector is just one aspect of Durbin’s work in the sector. The company has a substantial heritage in the supply and distribution of pharmaceutical, medical and relief supplies in this sector too, as Robert explains:

“Built up over 50 years, we have a robust and reliable global supply chain that allows us to assist with rapid reaction to healthcare crisis situations, as well as longer-term requirements. We are also very proud to have worked to donate over £22m worth of excess medicines that were still in date, to charities around the world over the years.”

Durbin works with a variety of organisations around the world including government, multilateral and procurement agencies, non-governmental organisations, charities, missionary groups and hospitals.

Gravity Light will be on display at Durbin’s AidEx stand (C22), as well as members of the team who will be able to discuss any pharmaceutical, medical equipment or relief goods requirements within the charity and NGO sector.
